        If you know… you know…. (it’s cheap insurance, the first symptom of a spring getting weak is inconsistent ignition).

      Springs wear from cyclic use. Compressed doesn’t wear a spring.

        That's interesting. Practice from benchrest was to not leave the bolt cocked to lengthen the life of the spring. It made sense at the time but never looked into it.

            I Googled around and am seeing conflicting answers. Boooo

            Buy two firing pin springs, compress one and leave the other as it is. Let it sit for a year and then take that pic again.
