  • 200M Steel Type and Target Thickness

What type of steel and how thick are the 200M highpower targets at your club? Just to be clear, this is for the animal silhouette targets (chickens, pigs, turkeys, rames), not typical range steel. Are you using AR400, AR500, A36 standard mild steel, or other steel? What thickness? Are there restrictions on bullets and/or calibers or cartridges?
    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hi,

I believe most use 1/2 inch ar500 on the chickens just cuz they are so near. The rule book recommends 1/2 inch for chicken and pigs and 3/8 for turkeys and rams.

There is a 6mm limit in the rulebook as well but nassa is creating a match at 300m max with reduced target sizes that is allowing 223 as long as it doesn't do target damage, which if it's ar500 it won't
